RESIDENTIAL SERVICES F= rancis House is a= state-wide residential service for clients who have an intellectual disabi= lity. It aims to assist clients to overcome the crisis associated with thei= r contact with the criminal justice system, and to reduce the likelihood of= re-offence. Staffed 24 hours per day within a community setting, Francis H= ouse offers residents the opportunity to integrate within the general commu= nity whilst promoting community safety. Programs offered i= nclude; &midd= ot; Human Relations and Sexuality Education &midd= ot; Anger Management &midd= ot; Problem Solving Skills &midd= ot; Drug and Alcohol Awareness &midd= ot; Independent Living Skills Training &midd= ot; Relaxation &midd= ot; Social Skills &midd= ot; Communication &midd= ot; Relapse Prevention Education and Training Recreation and Phy= sical Activity. D= ual Disability Residential Rehabilitation Service is a= specialist short to medium term intervention program for clients with comp= lex needs who live within the southern metropolitan region of Melbourne. Al= l intervention is behaviourally based and is cognisant of the client’= s mental health needs and level of cognitive functioning. The service consi= sts of one house located in a quiet suburban street close to public transpo= rt, shops and community facilities. There are up to five people living in t= he house at any time who must be eligible for services under the Mental Hea= lth Act and the Intellectually Disabled Persons Services Act. R= egional Accommodation prog= rams are funded by various regions of Disability Services for service users= living within those regions. These programs are targeted at individuals wh= o display anti-social behaviours and who may pose an ongoing risk to the ge= neral community without supervision. The aims of each of these services are= to assist residents to gain the skills and knowledge needed for them to li= ve as independently as possible. |
